About Great Salt Lake Audubon’s Bird Safe Utah
Great Salt Lake Audubon (GSLA) launched its Residential Install Program in 2025 after Bird Safe Utah Chair, Punita Koustubhan, observed that many homeowners experienced bird-window collisions but lacked practical solutions. Following a demonstration installation by Bird Divert at a volunteer home, she partnered with a bird-safe decal manufacturer to create a scalable install model.
The program quickly expanded to dozens of homes across Utah and has since grown to include institutional outreach through the Bird Safe By Design team. Bird Safe Utah operates as a committee of Great Salt Lake Audubon, with ongoing support from GSLA and partnership with Tracy Aviary.
